Compensation of Academic Loss Programme (CALP) is undertaken at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Angul to minimize learning gaps and ensure continuity in students’ academic progress whenever regular classroom instruction is affected due to unavoidable circumstances.
Under CALP, teachers identify the learning gaps and areas requiring reinforcement through regular assessment, classroom observation and interaction with students. Appropriate academic support is then provided through revision classes, remedial teaching, additional practice, worksheets, activity-based learning and individual guidance.
Special attention is given to students who require additional academic support. Teachers focus on strengthening fundamental concepts, subject-specific competencies, reading and writing skills, numeracy and problem-solving abilities. The programme is implemented in a systematic manner while ensuring that students are not overburdened.
The school also promotes the use of digital resources and innovative teaching-learning methods wherever appropriate to supplement classroom instruction. Continuous monitoring and assessment help teachers evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions and modify strategies according to students’ needs.
