Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Angul is committed to achieving the objectives of NIPUN Lakshya under the NIPUN Bharat Mission, with a special focus on strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) among students in the foundational stage.
The school implements child-centred and activity-based teaching-learning practices to make learning joyful, meaningful and effective. Teachers engage students through stories, rhymes, poems, picture reading, conversation, role play, games, puzzles, worksheets, hands-on activities and Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs). These activities help children develop vocabulary, reading fluency, comprehension, writing skills, number sense, basic operations and problem-solving abilities.
Special emphasis is given to learning through play and experiential activities, allowing children to participate actively rather than merely memorising concepts. Teachers regularly observe and assess students’ learning levels to identify gaps and provide appropriate remedial and individual support.
The school also encourages a supportive learning environment through parental involvement and continuous monitoring of students’ progress. The efforts of teachers, parents and students together contribute towards ensuring that every child attains the expected foundational competencies.
